This wax head sculpture was made as an interactive educational model for clinical skills to depict the disease Streptococcal pharyngitis and its clinical presentation. This model also portrays the muscles involved in opening of the mouth during a clinical examination.
The sculpture was made out of using wax with other materials such as thread for lymph nodes, latex to show fascia and resin to make saliva inside the mouth. This model was painted using oil paints and placed on a wooden stand.
I also used photogrammetry to create a 3D model of the sculpture and added annotations for better knowledge transfer. This model has been uploaded on sketchfab.
